Junior Achievement (JA) of Talbot County is proud to announce tits 2013 Advisory Board. These local professionals volunteer their time to support the growth and success of Junior Achievement’s mission to teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness skills to Talbot County students.
The JA of Talbot County Advisory Board is chaired by Geoff Oxnam of Easton Utilities and includes

The Advisory Board is supported by Jayme Weeg, President of Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore, and her staff based in Salisbury.
“Our early successes in Talbot County are the direct result of the hard work of our Advisory Board and their investment in this program,” comments Geoff Oxnam, advisory board president. “They are tremendous ambassadors for JA’s mission and many are also in the classroom teaching and having a direct impact on our students.”
Junior Achievement (JA), a national organization dedicated to educating students about business and finance, has been active in Talbot County since 2011. The organization has been growing and is currently working with 200 students at Easton and St. Michaels High Schools and hopes to expand to 500 students by the end of the year with the addition of a Middle School curriculum throughout the county. A long-term goal of the organization is to transform a portion of the old Cadmus building in Easton on Idlewild Avenue, donated by developers Palmer Gillis and Tony Gilkerson, into Achievement Park – an experiential learning facility for Junior Achievement students.
In addition to providing oversight and support to JA’s programming in Talbot County, the Advisory Board also plans and participates in friend and fundraising events on behalf of the organization, including the recent successful FAs for JA networking breakfast and the First Annual Talbot Cup dodgeball tournament that was in partnership with Eventful Giving.
