The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum recently welcomed Liz Cowee of Neavitt, Md. as Wedding and Event Coordinator.In the position, Cowee is working to develop, plan, and execute memorable annual festivals and private events at CBMM, with a focus on weddings.
Cowee brings more than seven years’ experience in event planning to the position, having formerly served as Events and Catering Director of Mason’s Restaurant in Easton, Md.Cowee’s experience also includes home staging and redesign services, and as Innkeeper/Event Sales of The Oaks in Royal Oak, Md. She holds a BA in Art History and Studio Art from University of Vermont and a graduate degree from the Gemological Institute of America.
CBMM provides an array of wedding and private rental venues, including Fogg’s Landing and the Van Lennep Auditorium, the historic Tolchester Beach Bandstand, and Navy Point—with its panoramic views of Miles River and the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse.

Cowee’s relationship with the Chesapeake Bay began when she was a young girl and her family moved to Neavitt, Md. from Jackson Hole, Wyo. Having always enjoyed boating, sailing, and swimming, she returned to the region seven years ago, after living in Vermont and California.
Her volunteer work has served numerous local organizations, including Easton’s Waterfowl Festival, Talbot Partnership Youth Coalition, Academy Art Museum, and the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store.
Established in 1965, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is a world-class maritime museum dedicated to preserving and exploring the history, environment, and people of the entire Chesapeake Bay, with the values of relevancy, authenticity, and stewardship guiding its mission.
