Tilghman Island Goes Purple on Saturday afternoon from 1-4 PM on September 15th. The Island’s Purple in the Park free event will be held rain or shine at the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Hall and Kronsburg Park.
This free event will be fun for the whole family. Come out to meet Sheriff Joe Gamble, the Purple Mascot and see the K-9 demonstration. Grab a hot dog, have some ice cream, listen to live local music with DJ “R”; play games with the kids and more. Plus, we will light up Tilghman with one free purple light bulb per family.
Check out afterschool programs like the CBMM Rising Tide and TAYA. Local businesses, churches and vendors will have free giveaways. Members from The Healthy Tilghman Initiative and local Pastors will be on hand to make the community aware of resources for those seeking assistance for crisis, addiction, counseling, preventive measures and healthy living. Come out see what one community can do to fight opioid addiction.
Tilghman Purple in the Park is part of the Talbot Goes Purple campaign, Talbot Prays, a faith-based initiative that networks with local churches and Pastors to create awareness of the opioid problem. The Tilghman Volunteer Fire Hall is located at 5996 Tilghman Island Road, Tilghman Island, MD. Kronsburg Park is directly across from the Fire Hall.
