The Mid-Shore Symphony Society, now in its 44th consecutive year of presenting the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) to Eastern Shore audiences, announces the orchestra’s 2014-2015 season at Chesapeake College.
The season begins on Friday, October 17 with a BSO premier of an over looked Swedish composer Elfrida Andree’s composition “Concert Overture,” Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D Major featuring BSO principal flutist Emily Skala, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 3 in D Major “Polish.”
On Saturday, January 24 audience favorite Jonathan Carney is the soloist in the Brahms’ Violin Concerto, with Stravinsky’s Concerto in E- flat “Dumbarton Oaks” and Mozart Symphony No. 35 “Haffner” rounding out the evening.
From tragic to comedic, romantic to whimsical the BSO teams up with the Washington National Opera presenting opera’s greatest hits featuring artists from the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program for the Saturday, April 25th concert. It promises to be a wonderful evening featuring the music of Mozart, Verdi, Puccini and more.
