The Women & Girls Fund of the Mid-Shore, a field-of-interest endowment with the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, is now accepting grant proposals from registered 501(c)3 organizations for programs addressing the needs of women, girls, and families throughout the five-county region. Completed applications are due in the Fund office by November 1, 2011.
Since its founding in 2002 the Fund has awarded $265,000 to 48 non-profit organizations in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne, and Talbot counties.
“We believe supporting programs that help women and families is especially important during difficult economic periods,” said Beth Spurry, president of the Women & Girls Fund. “We are grateful for the continued loyalty of our donors who make it possible for us to help worthwhile programs.”
Pat Bradley, a Women & Girls Fund board member who co-chairs the Grants Committee along with Hilary Spence, added: “We are very interested in receiving applications from organizations representing all five counties. No organization should be reluctant to apply. We give attention to specialized needs and innovative programs for which other funding sources might not exist. We are pleased to have helped a number of small innovative projects get started and go on to be successful ongoing programs.”
Applications for grants may be obtained by contacting the Fund office at 102 E. Dover St., 2nd floor, Easton, MD. 21601, by calling 410-770-8347, or online at www.womenandgirlsfund.org.
Grant recipients will be announced at the Fund’s annual spring luncheon in April, 2012.
