While form-based zoning codes are becoming more popular with municipalities as a successful way to grow strategically, the Easton Planning Commission paused adoption of a form-based zoning code last week, choosing instead to keep the town’s comprehensive plan flexible while calling for further study of zoning reform. Form-based zoning focuses on how buildings look and […]

A new year for sky-watchers begins with Jupiter coming into opposition on January 10th.  This means that Jupiter appears to us opposite the Sun in the sky, with the giant planet rising in the eastern evening sky as the Sun sets in the western sky.  This also means that Earth is closer to Jupiter now than we […]

Last week, Sir Issac Newton would have celebrated his 383rd birthday. Remember Sir Isaac? It won’t surprise many Mid-Shore residents that few people know about Claiborne, Maryland, or even know its name. Though it sits just a few miles from the bustle of St. Michaels, the tiny hamlet of roughly 70 homes feels far more remote, known mostly to those who deliberately go looking for it. That wasn’t always […]

Last week, after worship at The Presbyterian Church of Easton, each attendee was given a gift by Pastor Eric Markman.
