Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will present a discussion on A. Aubrey Bodine, famed pictorialist of the Baltimore Sun.  The speaker will be Ms Jennifer Bodine, daughter of the award winning photographer.

Jennifer Bodine will discuss her father’s extensive work covering all sorts of stories with the Baltimore Sun.  Aubrey was known as the newspaperman covering stories with his camera.

Beyond covering stories for the Baltimore Sun for 43 years, Mr. Bodine entered his photographs in both national and international completion and consistently won top honors.  He believed that photography could be a creative discipline and he studied these principles at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Aubrey Bodine was a craftsman with the camera, always experimenting with his tools.  He would make technical alterations to the negative with various manipulations to produce the effect he had in mind, akin to the painter, he worked from the model and selected those features which suited his sense of mood, proportion and design.  For more information, call the library at 410-745-5877, or visit www.tcfl.org.
