The Talbot County Free Library Foundation has named Rob Brownlee-Tomasso the winner of its competition to create a new logo for the foundation. The Talbot County Free Library Foundation promotes charitable giving that raises private, sustainable funds from individuals, businesses, and organizations to support the library in enhancing and enriching the lives of all Talbot County residents.
Brownlee-Tomasso’s winning design, inspired by the library’s own logo, features a book whose pages resemble wings holding the library aloft. Brownlee-Tomasso is a freelance graphic designer and artist who received his degree in advertising design from Rowan University. He said he wanted his logo to convey a sense of the Talbot County Free Library Foundation’s role as a “foundation,” the instrument through which the people of our region create the sort of ever-renewing, state-of-the-art library necessary to the health of a thriving community.
Speaking of the competition, Foundation Board Chairman Jean Greenlee said, “It wasn’t easy picking a winner—we received a large number of excellent entries—but we are pleased to have decided upon Mr. Brownlee-Tomasso’s design, which we feel perfectly reflects the Foundation’s desire to support our wonderful Talbot County Free Library.”
Brownlee-Tomasso’s clients include a variety of local businesses and non-profits. His paintings can be seen at The Foundry Art Gallery and Turnbridge Point, both in Denton, and online at www.rbtomasso.com.”
