September 11 Ceremony

The Talbot County Fire and Rescue Association, in conjunction with The Talbot County Council issue this Press Release in regards to the Talbot Counties 2016 911 ceremony.

A Beautiful Ceremony to commemorate the event of September 11, 2001 will be held on Tilghman Island, Maryland, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 8:30am, location is Dogwood Harbor on the Choptank River. Both organizations cordially invite our County, State and National news agencies to mark their calendars and join us in celebrating this most note worthy event. Various County, Fire and Rescue Companies, Law Enforcement agencies, Clergy, School bands, Chair Groups and Dignitaries will participate in this beautiful Ceremony to remember those who gave their all, so we can enjoy the freedom we have today.

Immediately following our Ceremony, the general public is invited to attend the events on the Island to held by our friends from the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Department. An all you can eat breakfast will be held at the Firehall, proceeds will help with the daily operation of the Fire Department and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Fallen Firefighter Fund. Following the wonderful breakfast, the Tilghman Vol. Fire Department will proudly present the 2nd annual Firemen Olympics at 11:00am. Fire Departments from all over the State have been invited to compete in multiple tasks to demonstrate their top abilities, cash prizes and trophies will be awarded.

Please mark your calendar for the most note worthy events being held on Tilghman Island, Maryland, Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 8:30am, Dogwood Harbor and continuing throughout the day.
