The St. Michaels Art League is excited to announce the WINNERS of their special holiday show and sale held at the Clark Gallery of Fine Art. The St. Michaels Art League attempted to hold its annual Art Show and Sale, traditionally held on Labor Day weekend, twice, but both times hurricanes cancelled the shows. Participating members of these shows were invited, through the generosity of Heidi Clark and Patricia Spitaleri, to showcase their art at the Clark Gallery of Fine Art during the “Christmas in St. Michaels.”  Work exhibited included watercolor, oil, pastel, graphite and acrylic paintings of scenes, still life, abstracts, and landscapes.

Winners of the show, chosen by secret ballot by League members, were First Place to Valerie Sunderland with her watercolor “Lady Helen;” Second Place to George Hamilton for his oil panting entitled “In Winter’s Grasp;” and two members who tied for Third Place Awards going to Kathy Kopec for her oil painting “”Oak Creek Glow #2,” and Diana Dardis’ acrylic painting “Cloudbow.”

This show was truly an example of the professional and varied talents of its members and a great addition to the Christmas celebration in St. Michaels.

For more information on the league, visit www.smartleague.org. Michaels Art League is supported in part by the Talbot County Arts Council with revenue from the Maryland State Council of the Arts.
