At its annual conference, The Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association elected and installed J. Burgess Kegan, ChFC, CRMP as its 66th President to serve during its 2015 – 2016 fiscal year. Mr. Kegan previously served as Vice President during the past year as well as Co-chairman of the association’s legislative committee. He was also previously named by the association as “2012 Mortgage Banker of the Year“. He will be overseeing the association’s continuing growth, the provision of educational programs to its members, and will continue being an advocate for the mortgage banking industry in the state legislature and regulatory community.
Mr. Kegan was formerly Branch Manager in charge of branch operations of Security One Lending in Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia. He has recently accepted a position with Retirement Funding Solutions, the reverse mortgage division of Synergy One Lending headquartered in San Diego, CA, as a Home Equity Retirement Specialist, providing education to retirees, their families, and their circle of other professional advisors on the subject of the proper use of the newly designed Home Equity Conversion Mortgage in the distribution phase of retirement planning.
In addition to the above, Mr. Kegan is involved in numerous other organizations and is Chairman of the Eastern Shore Chapter of the National Aging in Place Council. He resides in St. Michaels with his wife Bevlee.
