At the same time, Horvath announced the appointment of Diana Hastings to the new position at the St. Michaels branch of Youth Services Librarian. Horvath said that Hastings, who holds four different master’s degrees, will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new job in St. Michaels. He pointed out that she is qualified as a school library media specialist, school psychologist, art therapist, and recreational therapist. She has extensive experience working with youth with special needs, including reluctant readers and those with various learning disabilities.

Hastings says she is excited about working with the community’s children and teens and hopes to help them meet their educational and recreational reading needs. She also looks forward to partnering with teachers, day-care providers, and home-school parents in creating successful, effective curricula.

Hastings invites patrons interested in learning more to call her at the St. Michaels library, telephone: 410-745-5877.
