St. Vincent de Paul Volunteers Receive Awards

October 29, 2020 by Spy Desk

During the pandemic, the food pantry at St. Vincent de Paul has been forced to operate outside in our parking lot. Our volunteers load food into back seats, trunks and way backs of the cars of those needing food. We are so grateful for our wonderful and devoted volunteers who do this work every Saturday and Tuesday.

For their leadership of this effort Debbie Mulchan and Anne Clucas have been recognized by the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. Each of them will receive the Town Watch Award in a virtual award ceremony on November 20. Both Debbie and Anne’s reactions were the same. “Why weren’t all our (food pantry) volunteers given recognition for their work?

Anne Clucas has also been presented with the Frederick Ozanam award from the Wilmington Council of St. Vincent de Paul for her leadership.

When Kathy Weaver asked these two women to take on leadership roles, no one knew we would be faced with the Covod-19 pandemic. How blessed we are that they have addressed the situation so well.
