Due to exceptional public interest, organizers of a community forum featuring Heather Mizeur, former Maryland Delegate and CEO and Founder of the WeAreOne Alliance, have announced a venue change to accommodate increased attendance. The event will now take place on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Easton Firehouse, 315 Leonard Rieck Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
The forum will focus on restoring respectful, values-based public dialogue and empowering citizens to engage constructively across political differences—an issue that has resonated deeply with Talbot County residents.
Grassroots civic groups have been forming throughout the county, from Oxford and St. Michaels to neighborhoods across Easton, bringing together residents who may not agree on every issue but share a commitment to staying informed, engaged, and connected.
Mizeur will address how communities can move beyond polarization and rediscover shared purpose through inclusive civic participation.
“It’s inspiring to see so many people choosing engagement over withdrawal,” said Heather Mizeur. “When communities show up like this—with curiosity, courage, and care for one another—it reminds us that positive change is not only possible, it’s already underway.”
Following the program, attendees will have an opportunity to connect with neighbors and local civic groups active throughout Talbot County.
The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required at WeAreOneAlliance.org/Talbot For more information about Heather Mizeur and the WeAreOne Alliance, visit www.weareonealliance.org.
