Talbot County Arts Council Grant to WAF Benefit the Eastern Shore Art Lovers

December 20, 2023 by Working Artists Forum (WAF)

Share

In July of 2023, the Talbot County Arts Council announced approval of a grant for the Working Artists Forum (WAF) to pay for well-respected guest artists to provide monthly art demonstrations. In doing so, it has allowed the WAF to increase the amount of its donations to support art in 33 elementary schools across the 6 counties of the Eastern Shore (Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot and Worcester).

As part of the grant approval, the WAF agreed to further facilitate and promote free access for members of the public to attend the art demonstrations, held at 10.30am, on the second Tuesday of each month, at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD.  The WAF is also hoping to attract more attendees by running occasional meetings on Saturdays.

Details of the dates and guest artist demonstrations already arranged by WAF for the first half of 2024, are listed below.

January 9 Chris Rapa, oil painter

February 17 (Sat) Brad Ross, figure drawing

March 12 TBD, watercolor painter

April 9 Mary Pritchard, pastel artist

May 14 Charles Newman, oil painter (winner of 2023 Plein Air Easton)

Members of the public may attend all demonstrations free of charge and can also send an email to workingartistforum.com to subscribe for monthly reminders on the upcoming guest demonstrations.
