The Delmarva Review, a regional literary journal, announced three additions to its editorial board. Anne Colwell, of Milton, DE will be the new poetry editor. Melanie Rigney, of Arlington, VA, will serve as an editorial advisor, and Mary Ann Hillier, of Trappe, MD will be the submissions administrator.
Over its five-year history, the Review has published new poetry, short stories and essays by over 100 authors from 18 states and seven foreign countries. About 70 per cent of the writers are from the region, the tristate Delmarva and Chesapeake area.
“We are delighted to add these talented individuals to the Review’s editorial board,” said Wilson Wyatt, executive editor. “They will help guide the Review as it develops future editions and launches its fifth issue.”
The 2012 issue will be published by October 1, and the new submissions period for writers opens on November 1.
Anne Colwell, a poet and fiction writer, is Associate Professor of English at the University of Delaware. Her book of poems, Believing Their Shadows (Word Press), was a finalist for the University of Wisconsin’s Brittingham Prize, the Anhinga Prize, New Issues Poetry Prize, and the Quarterly Review of Literature. She received an Established Artist Award in Poetry and an Emerging Artist Award in Fiction from the Delaware State Arts Council.
Melanie Rigney was editor of Writer’s Digest magazine for five years, and earlier held positions at Advertising Age, Thomson Financial Publishing, Macmillan Computer Publishing, and United Press International (UPI).

Mary Ann Hillier is a novelist, poet, and essayist. Her poetry has appeared in Northwestern University’s literary journal, Halcyon, and her essays have been published in The Washington Post’s Express. She was the administrator of The Delmarva Review Short Story Prize in 2011.
The Delmarva Review is published by the Eastern Shore Writers Association, a nonprofit organization supporting writers and the literary arts across the Delmarva Peninsula.
