BALTIMORE – University of Maryland Community Medical Group (UM CMG), announces the addition of Easton-based pediatrician Maria Maguire, MD, MPP, FAAP. Dr. Maguire’s clinical interests include general pediatrics, health policy and advocacy, management of allergic diseases(such as asthma, eczema and food allergies) and female adolescent health issues. Joining Dr. Richard Fritz; Dr. Mark Langfitt; Marilyn Gall, CFNP; and Ellen Spurry Christ, CPNP, she is seeing patients the Shore Medical Pavilion located at 500 Cadmus Lane in Easton, Suite 210. UM CMG is a University of Maryland Medical System-owned network of more than 300 primary care physicians, specialists- and advanced practice clinicians. As part of UM CMG, Dr. Maguire is affiliated with UM Shore Regional Health and provides care to patients in the nursery and Pediatric Unit at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton.
Dr. Maguire is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed her residency training in pediatrics at the Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. During residency, she advocated for children’s health issues with state legislators and worked with the Tennessee Department of Health’s Bureau of Maternal and Child Services. After completion of residency training, her interest in understanding the social determinants of health led her to pursue a master’s degree in public policy at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, where she studied health policy under Nobel prize winners Angus Deaton and Paul Krugman and was mentored by former New Jersey Commissioner of Health Heather Howard. Dr. Maguire is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Maryland chapter of the AAP. She resides in Easton with her husband and daughter.
