On Monday, April 29, at 4:00 p.m., the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library invites children 5 and older to bring a book or choose one from the library’s shelves to read with Janet Dickey and her dog, Tiger. Point Lab Presents “Good News from the Choptank” at the Easton Library
On Monday, April 29, at 6:30 p.m., as part of its Science After Hours series, Horn Point Laboratory, in partnership with the Talbot County Free Library, will present a program by the Lab’s Dr. Tom Fisher in the Library’s Easton branch about the latest good scientific reports coming in on the health of the Choptank River.
Dr. Fisher reports that the Choptank estuary station, near the Rt 50 bridge, is showing improvements in water quality primarily due to upgrades in wastewater plants in the Choptank Basin, though that is not the entire story. Dr. Fisher will explain all the factors his studies have found to have a positive affect upon water quality in the Choptank estuary.

St. Michaels Library to Screen Free Film

St. Michaels Library to Offer STEM Program
On Wednesday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m., the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library will offer “We Are Builders,” a STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) for children 6 – 13 years of age. On Thursday, May 2, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, a lawyer will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to provide free consultation on how to represent yourself and complete forms for: divorce, custody, visitation, child support, name change, guardianship, adoption, and juvenile expungement. Easton Library & Presbyterian Church to Hold a Youth Chess Tournament
On Saturday, May 4, at 10:00 a.m., the Talbot County Free Library in partnership with the Presbyterian Church of Easton will hold a Youth Chess Tournament for contestants 16 and under. The tournament will take place at the church, 617 N. Washington St., Easton. The final game will be played using oversized chess pieces on the church parking lot.
