September 6, 2014 by St. Michaels Art League

Share

Willie Crockett speaks with the strong dialect unique to Tangier Island, where he was born, and he paints with the strength of a life-long intimate knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay. Mr. Crockett will present a free lecture, “Anyone can Draw a Boat & Other Lore”, at 7 PM on Sunday evening, September 14, at Key Lime Café on Talbot Street in St. Michaels. You are encouraged to reserve for light dinner fare at Key Lime prior to the free public talk.

Mr. Crockett lives in historic Onancock, VA, where he welcomes guests to his studio and gallery. He is best known for his waterfowl and nostalgic Eastern Shore scenes. Mr. Crockett is a faculty member of Eastern Shore Community College and has conducted presentations throughout the area. His wildlife and shore scenes are exhibited annually in Charleston, SC; Salisbury and Easton, MD.

The St. Michaels Art League, assisted by a grant from AT&T and support from the Talbot County Arts Council, is presenting ARTfest, “100 Days of Art” during the summer of 2014. Programs included a series of free public presentations on art, workshops for adults and children, Master Art Classes and a Member Gallery at 106 Railroad Ave., St. Michaels.
