The Baltimore Sun is reporting this morning that Mabel Mumford-Pautz, 82, has been accused by the Maryland state prosecutor of stealing funds she managed as treasurer of the Eastern Shore chapter of the Maryland Municipal League.
The Chestertown Democrat, who served on the council for 32 years, was charged March 25 with felony theft of between $10,000 and $100,000, according to court records. The theft allegedly took place between September 2008 and February 2014, when Mumford-Pautz was treasurer of the chapter.
