Talbot Country Club will host the 2015 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Open Tournament on July 13-16, 2015 featuring ninety-six of the best junior
“We are thrilled to welcome back the AJGA to Talbot Country Club and Easton,” said Karl Knade, Talbot Country Club President. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our membership and the community to experience golf as played by some of the top up-and-coming athletes in the sport. We also are happy to help bring a significant economic impact to Easton and Talbot County.”
The AJGA estimates the event will generate approximately $150,000 in added revenue to the local economy as competietors and their families and friends enjoy Easton and Talbot County during The AJGA is a non-profit organization that fosters the growth of golf’s next generation by supporting the overall growth and development of young men and women, ages 12-18, who aspire to earn college golf scholarships.
The AJGA is comprised of more than 6,300 members from 48 states and more than 50 foreign countries. In addition to developing golf skills, the AJGA is committed to community engagement through its Leadership Links program that teaches junior golfers the importance of service and charitable giving.
AJGA alumni have combined for more than 600 wins on the PGA and LPGA Tours, and have been crowned champions at six of the seven PGA Tour events so far this season. Alumni include Jordan Spieth, Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson, Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Stacy Lewis, Vicky Hurst, Inbee Park, Paula Creamer, Christie Kerr, Brittany Lincicome and AJGA Open rounds are open to the public and will be played July 13-16, 2015 with tee times running from 7:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. For more information, please contact the Talbot Country Club 410-822-0490.
