There’s something new this year at the The St. Michaels Art League’s annual “Under the Tent” show and sale on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4. Drop by to see demonstrations featuring various mediums by art league members: Acrylics: Rose W. Doster painting miniature still life; Ceramics: Paul Aspell throwing clay on the wheel; Colored Pencils on Mylar: Lee D’Zmura documenting a preserved butterfly specimen; Oils: Anne Allbeury-Hock and Judy Bittorf; Pastels: Donna Finley and Jo Merrill; and, Watercolors: Joan Cranor and Val Sunderland.
For the past seven years SMAL members have designed banners to “Celebrate St. Michaels.” Again this year, the street banners from previous years will be for sale at this show as well as the framed original artwork designs used to create the 2016 banners which are currently displayed along Talbot Street.
Feel free to chat with all the artists on site and find out more about St. Michaels Art League and its activities. This annual show gives everyone an opportunity to see a diverse collection of artwork in pastel, oil, acrylic, watercolor, collage and three-dimensional art.
The hours of the show are Saturday, September 3 from 10:00 to 5:00 and Sunday, September 4 from 12:30 until 5:00, in the St. Luke’s Church Yard (rain or shine) on Talbot Street, St. Michaels. For more information visit www.smartleague.org or Joan Cranor at 410-310-8382 or Janet Prieger at 410-745-2329.
