Centreville Police confirmed Monday that a man wearing a mask and displaying a handgun robbed the 7-11 at 2601 Centreville Road at 1:50 a.m. on Thursday.
Lt. Gregory Wright of the Easton Police Department said that the description of the suspect and the M-O was “very similar” to an attempted robbery just two hours earlier of the 7-11 at 410 N. Washington St. in Easton, which was thwarted when the store clerk challenged the armed suspect. The suspect fled on foot.
Law enforcement officials in each of the jurisdictions have advised against physical confrontations with armed robbers.
TFC William Abey of the Maryland State Police Criminal Investigations Division told the Spy that the two robberies, and four others in Kent and Queen Anne’s County since Oct. 26, are being investigated with the strong possibility of being connected to the same suspects.
The six robberies took place over a 25-day period — beginning with the robbery of the Back Fifty, formerly Howard’s Tavern, in Kingston on Oct. 26.
The Domino’s Pizza located at 518 Washington Avenue in Chestertown was robbed at gunpoint on Nov. 6 at 12:20 a.m. — and just five days later on Nov. 11 the Royal Farm Stores at 301 Maple Avenue in Chestertown was robbed at 4:30 a.m.
On Nov. 18 at around 10:30 p.m. the Domino’s in Centreville was held up.
