Track the changing landscape from summer to fall when Adkins Arboretum offers a popular Soup ’n Walk program on Sat., Sept. 10. Following a guided walk, participants will enjoy a delicious and nutritious lunch along with a brief lesson about the meal’s nutritional value. Copies of recipes are provided.The hour-long walk will focus on the Arboretum’s colorful meadow. Plants of interest include milkweed, Maryland golden aster, black-eyed Susan, goldenrod, sumac and sassafras berries, and golden grasses. The lunch menu includes sweet potato leek soup; quinoa, green bean and tomato salad; wheat bread with seeds and hummus; and whole wheat oat scones with berries for dessert.
