Candleberry Gallery in St. Michaels will host a spring exhibit during the month of May featuring artwork by the Friday Morning Artists. This eclectic group of local artists includes painters, glass artists, photographers, weavers, and mixed-media artists. The group started meeting almost 20 years ago at a coffee shop in Easton, and continues to draw new artists to gather together for camaraderie and collaboration. The Friday Morning Artists will be on hand at the Gallery for a reception on Thursday, May 5, from 4 to 7 pm, so stop by to see their unique work.
In May, Candleberry Gallery will also be featuring local watercolor artist Dave Murphy, who paints “Fun Chesapeake Art for Fun Chesapeake People.” His colorful nautical scenes and picturesque Chesapeake imagery appeal to all those who love our unique local environment. After a full career in architecture and as a corporate executive, Dave travels to boat shows and galleries on both sides of the bridge to share his art.
The Gallery’s May class will be the return of Lisa Skibene’s popular evening of learning to paint with alcohol inks. On Friday, May 6, from 6 to 8 pm, Lisa will guide each participant through creation of a vibrant design or unique scene on a ceramic tile. This creative technique is easy to learn and fun for everyone. Pre-registration is required for the class (cost is $35) by calling 410-745-2420.
The Candleberry Gallery is located at 210 S. Talbot Street in St. Michaels, next door to The Candleberry General Store. We welcome you to come stroll the charming streets of St. Michaels and shop for unique art from renowned local artisans.
