The Society of St. Vincent de Paul will host once again the popular Christmas Holiday Sale, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring clothing and gifts (some new with original tags!). Store located at 29533 Canvasback Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
Proceeds from the Christmas sale contribute to helping those in need with food, clothing and financial assistance regardless of race, creed, gender or religion.
Through its facility on Canvasback Drive in Easton, the Society distributes food to hundreds of families and individuals facing hunger, 52 weeks a year. The food includes shelf-stable items such as cereal, peanut butter, tuna fish, pasta, canned vegetables, fruit, dried milk, soap and toilet paper. Perishable items, such as milk, bread, meat, produce and frozen vegetables are also part of the food program. The value of the food distributed in 2020 was $ 990,829.
The Society also provides emergency financial assistance for utility bills, mortgage and rent payments, temporary shelter, prescriptions and medical needs, along with transportation and other related expenses. In 2020, the Society provided $132,776 to Talbot County residents to help cover these necessities.
For those in need, clothing is available free or at a low cost. Clothing is also available for purchase. Our thrift store offers a wide range of apparel and accessories for women, men, and children. In addition, we can supply furniture and household items to help provide a comfortable home living environment.
