News Update (12:13pm) Investigation into Bomb Threats at Kent County Schools Continues

Greg Shipley, public spokesperson the Maryland State Police, confirmed that a a bomb threat was found in the Kent Middle School.  A note was left at the middle school and stated that there were bombs at all seven Kent County Schools, and they would be detonated shortly.

Law enforcement officers from Kent County, as well as other Eastern Shore and Western Shore support, are now on location at each school conducting a through search with the aid of police bomb sniffing dogs.  They expect to complete their search this afternoon.

“This is a very serious matter and law enforcement needs to take it very seriously.” said Shipley.

Gary McCulloch, principal for Kent County Middle School, stated that all students were safe and asked parents to pick up their students.

12:13 PM

The Galena School has been declared safe.  Kent County High School is next to be cleared.
