The Black Tie Gala on Saturday, September 29th, will be the highlight of the Garfield Center’s weekend anniversary celebration.
Saturday’s Gala starts at 6:30pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served in the Kohl Lobby and under the stars with the musical accompaniment of pianist Stef Scaggiari.
Following cocktails, the Garfield Center Big Band featuring vocalist Julie Hall perform in the main theatre, where guests can listen and dance to the sounds of classic big band swing. The 7-piece band features some of the Mid Atlantic’s top-notch musicians, including those who have previously wowed crowds at the former Chestertown staple, Andy’s: drummer “Big Joe Maher” and baritone sax player Chris Watling. Jazz aficionados will be familiar with upright bassist Tommy Cecil.
Champagne and dessert will be offered in the lobby during intermission, followed by the presentation of the Annual Kenny Award, given for excellence and service in the arts in Kent County.
Tickets for the gala are $75 for general seating and $125 for limited preferred seats.
