Some places tend to cast a mysterious spell on artists, and the Irish countryside ranks as one of the most magical places in all of the world. Unspoiled meadows, winding country roads, and more shades of green than you can possibly name. It’s a timeless beauty that captures the imagination indelibly.
The good news in that this beauty can be captured on canvas, and preserved for posterity.
In March two award-winning artists will create an exhibit of carefully selected Irish landscapes.
Springtime In Ireland opens Friday, March 1st, at South Street Gallery in Easton, with a reception beginning at 5 pm. The public is invited.
Lani Browning and Valerie Craig have come together to present their favorite views of a land they both love to visit, and to paint. And they both bring their distinctive styles to the task.
Lani Browning is known for her lush, sensuous approach to colors – her varied use of greens was the topic for an early magazine interview – and her ability to immerse the viewer into a special time and place. Her subjects range from the French countryside, to Ireland, the American West, and her native Eastern Shore.
Valerie Craig has gathered a dedicated following over the last twenty years with her distinctive brushwork, her sensitive treatment of light, and stunning composition. She travels frequently to Ireland and within the United States, teaching workshops and looking for opportunities to paint in the field.
Springtime In Ireland will run from March 1 through April 28. South Street Gallery is located at 5 South Street, Easton, MD.
