There is no place like “Home for the Holidays”! Christmas in St. Michaels will hold its annual Holiday Gala on Friday, December 12, at 6:30 p.m. at Harbourtowne Resort in St. Michaels. Gala co-chairs Cathy Mendenhall and Elaine Bednarz want people to know that everyone in the community is invited to this popular event, which for many is a highlight of the holidays. “We have sent invitations to people who have attended the gala in the past, but we can’t possibly know the names and addresses of everyone who might be interested in coming,” said Cathy.
The evening will feature cocktails and hors-d’oeuvres, a seated three-course dinner with wine selections, a dazzling dessert buffet, and dancing to the music of the XPD’s, a musical group known for their versatility in playing pop, jazz, rock and R&B.
Tickets for the gala are $150 per person, and black tie is optional. Reservations are required, so anyone interested in purchasing tickets should call 410-745-0745 or visit www.christmasinstmichaels.org. All funds raised by the Holiday Gala go to the following local non-profit organizations: CarePacks of Talbot County-St. Michaels and Tilghman, Character Counts Mid Shore, Inc., Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Classic Motor Museum of St. Michaels., Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers – St. Michaels Site, Drew Landis Memorial Fireworks, Imagination Library-Bay Hundred, Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, Pickering Creek Audubon Center, St. Michaels After School Help(SMASH), St. Michaels Community Center, St. Michaels Community Food Pantry, St. Michaels High School After Prom, St. Michaels Fire Department, St. Michaels Little League, Talbot Humane-Bay Hundred, Talbot Partnership-Bay Hundred, Tilghman Area Youth Association, and Tilghman Watermen’s Association.
Christmas in St. Michaels will take place this year on December 12, 13, and 14. In addition to the Holiday Gala, it will include a Christmas parade, Tour of Homes, Breakfast with Santa, Santa’s Wonderland, Gingerbread House Display, and the Marketplace for hand-crafted gifts, a Celebration of Choirs, and many other holiday festivities.
