Talbot Historical Society Project Rewind: Tilghman Island’s Fluharty Boatyard

October 24, 2014 by Talbot Historical Society

Share

The Talbot Historical Society archive sheet states that Fluharty’s Boatyard on Chicken Point Road was established in 1925. It was owned and operated by Wilmer Fluharty, Sr. And his sons, Ed and Wilmer, Jr. . The yard did repair and maintenance on every kind of craft even Skipjacks. In the 1950’s Marina slips were added and in 1976 the yard was sold to Carl Griebel who now operates it as Severn Marine. This information was last updated March 5, 2001 from information called in when the “Star Democrat” ran it as a mystery photo. Can you give us a 2014 update on this Marina?
