Beyond the accolades for the triumphant New Year’s Eve Easton Crab Drop, and the accompanying CNN news coverage, at the January 5th Easton Town Council, the attention shifted to the more sobering news that Ward 1 Council Member Kelley Malone would not be seeking re-election in May. This announcement was followed by Ward 3 Councilmember Leonard Wendowski reaffirming his decision not to run for office, which means two open seats and a mayoral election this spring. But leaving on a high note at the end of the short meeting was Council President John Ford’s toast to the Avalon Foundation’s community production of Miracle of 34th Street in late December.
