Spying on Easton: New Draft Ordinance Addresses Airbnb-like Rentals in Town

The Town of Easton on Monday night started the process of approving a new ordinance (no. 680) directly addressed to short term rentals of four months or less like Airbnb and other websites. The draft language was modeled after a similar law passed by Talbot County.

The Spy captured the general discussion as the ordinance was introduced.

    If a Talbot County ordinance is on the books for short term rentals, why does the Town of Easton need another ordinance that covers the same stuff? Doesn’t make sense to me.
