This Sunday, September 18, the choirs of Christ Church Easton will combine with numerous musical guests in observation of Music Dedication Sunday at the 11:00 morning service. Under the direction of music director Wes Lockfaw, the anthem will include all participating musicians from the Parish choir to the children’s choirs and Christ Church Choral Scholars accompanied by Dale Krider at the organ, Marcia Fidis at the piano, the Christ Church Adult Handbell Choir, Carlos Zabala and Wendell Banyay on trumpets, and Charles Smith on timpani. At the communion, the choir will sing another original work, Unfailing Love, by prolific composer Joel Raney. The piece will feature two additional instrumentalists- Sally Montgomery on flute and Carey Miller on cello. Other music will include works by George Frederick Handel and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The music ministry of Christ Church Easton provides many opportunities for singers and instrumentalists to participate and utilize their musical gifts. The congregation invites the public to share in this special service and hear a number of its ensembles on this festive occasion.
