Talbot County came out in force for a hometown hero on Saturday. The tradition of celebrating the life of Frederick Douglass, who was born near Tappers Corner in 1818, continued with a day long festivities including a parade, music, good food and informative lectures.
The Spy was able to capture a few moments of this grand day as well as some highlights from a lecture by Harvard University’s John Stauffer, Professor of African-American history, and author of a new book entitled Picturing Frederick Douglass.
