This week’s feature is a property listed for $1,100,000 at First Street in Oxford.
Oxford is one of my favorite towns with its allure of the Robert Morris Inn, Pope’s Tavern, the Scottish Highland Creamery and performances by the Tred Avon Players. Once again my fondness for Oxford led me to this charming cottage on Town Creek.
I liked the curb appeal very much-the waterfront setting with several mature trees, plantings, the colonial style architecture with its symmetrical elevation, well done addition and warm color palette all contribute to its charm. The house’s multiple dining areas, gourmet kitchen, study with wet bar, sunroom, sitting room with fireplace and screened porch make it ideal for relaxing with family and friends. Each of the four bedrooms has its own bath so everyone has their own private retreat. My favorite part of the house was the spacious second floor deck that is accessible from some of the bedrooms. It is a wonderful outdoor room with its “bird’s eye” views of sunsets over Town Creek.
