The St. Michaels Art League has announced the winners of their third annual photography show exhibited at the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library during the month of November.
Dave Harp, an award-winning environmental photographer served as Judge. Dave’s work has appeared in the Smithsonian, Audubon, Sierra Club and NY Times magazines, among others. He has published eight books about the Chesapeake and is also a videographer who has worked on several environmental films that have aired on Maryland Public Television sch as “An Island Out of Time” about Smith Island, and “High Tide in Dorchester.” Dave has a photography business in Cambridge, MD.
First place went to George Sass for his black and white photo, “Opening Day.” The second-place award went to Jeff McGuiness for his black and white photo entitled “Cove, Wye East River.” Third Place went to Ted Mueller’s entry “Trio of Calla Lilies.” Honorable mentions went to Martin Zell for “The Way Home,” Heidi Wetzel for “Cicada” and George Sass for “Fork in the York.”
Photography will be on display through November 30th. Works are available for sale through the Artists.
The library is located at 106 South Talbot Street in St. Michaels. Revised library hours are Monday and Thursday: 10 a.m.to noon and 3 to 7 p.m. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. The library is closed mid-day for cleaning. The library is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
