The Easton Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) will hold its bi-annual “Spring Tricky Tray” fundraising event on Saturday, March 21th, 2015 from 10:00 am to12:30 pm at the Hill Manor Auditorium, on Dutchman’s Lane, in Easton, MD. At the Tricky Tray (often called a Chinese auction), members of AAUW have donated various themed gift trays/baskets to be “won” by attendees. A $25.00 donation includes a continental breakfast, speaker, 20 tickets for distribution during the auction, plus raffle and door prizes.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we are delighted to have Jeannie Haddaway-Ricco, the newly appointed Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Governor Hogan. She will address issues of communication between th egovernor’s office and Maryland communities.
The monies raised will go to the AAUW Educational Foundation, (for graduate education and funds research); the Legal Advocacy Fund (assists women and men with legal fees to help them in discrimination suits in education and the workplace); and the Easton Branch projects (Mature Woman’s Grant, and Women Who Make a Difference Luncheon).
AAUW is a national organization promoting equity for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change. Founded in 1881 the AAUW is open to all graduates who hold an associate degree or equivalent, a baccalaureate, or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Composed of women of all ethnicities, perspectives, backgrounds and professions, the AAUW also seeks to promote social change through involvement in Voter Education Campaigns, Programs for Women and Girls,
Political Advocacy for Women, and by providing research, fellowships and grants.
