The harvest moon rose above tents filled with Adkins Arboretum supporters on Saturday evening for the 5th annual Magic in the Meadow fundraising gala, with silent and live auctions, food and friends.
Ellie Altman welcomed the crowd with warm words about the magic of the natural world, and described the Arboretum’s commitment to protecting the natural landscape and to land stewardship. Their campaign to build a green legacy includes a 6500 sq. ft. addition to the visitor’s center.
The arboretum, the only one of its kind on Delmarva, offers educational programs and access to 400 acres of woodlands, meadows and gardens. Educational programs include appreciation for native flora, and offer tools to protect our natural environment and to create a sustainable landscape for the future.
