Principal and CEO of Atlantic Financial Group, Brett M. Sause, was presented Official Citations from Senator Addie Eckardt of District 37 and Delegates Johnny Mautz and Christopher Adams of District 37B, acknowledging his work to bring awareness to children’s grief programs on the Eastern Shore. The presentation took place during the Legislative Outlook hosted by the Talbot Chamber at the Talbot Country Club, coinciding with National Children’s Grief Awareness Day.
Eckardt remarked, “It is truly fitting to be able to present Mr. Sause these citations on the observed day for children’s grief, and the fact that my fellow legislators and I could be part of something that acknowledges programs designed to help our youngest constituents, even if indirectly, makes me very proud.” Mautz added, “Mr. Sause’s efforts to raise awareness of the underserved community of Eastern Shore children who have lost a parent also informs us of the need to do more for them.”
Adams commented, “Losing a parent or even grandparent has a significant impact on a child. Bringing awareness to programs that help children from the Eastern Shore deal with their grief is an honorable endeavor and I hope others join Mr. Sause to help strengthen and expand them.”
Sause said, “I am truly honored to receive recognition from Senator Eckardt and Delegates Mautz and Adams. I am happy to know they understand the importance of children’s grief services on the Eastern Shore, where grief programs for youth are not as prevalent as on the western shore.”
Sause recently donated funds to benefit children’s grief services at Talbot Hospice and Compass Regional Hospice.
National Children’s Grief Awareness Day was created in 2008 by the Highmark Caring Place, A Center for Grieving Children, Adolescents and Their Families, and since recognized by organizations around the world. It is observed every year on the third Thursday in November.
