On Sunday November 22 at 5:00pm Al Petteway and Amy White will play original, traditional, contemporary Celtic- and Appalachian-influenced music, with occasional nods to rock and jazz. Their performances feature acoustic guitar, mandolin, Celtic harp, piano, banjo, lap dulcimer, world percussion, and vocals. Grammy-winning guitarist Al Petteway is featured prominently on Ken Burns’ documentaries including: Mark Twain, The National Parks, Baseball, Prohibition, The Dust Bowl, The Roosevelts.
Al & Amy will be joined by guest artist Sally Sparks who plays bass and an amazing instrument, rarely seen or heard, called the Haken Continuum.
The “Music in the Gallery” series takes place at Ulrika Leander’s beautiful Contemporary Tapestry Studio and Gallery, 5592 Poplar Lane, Royal Oak, MD, near the Bellevue Ferry landing. Tour the gallery and enjoy a wine and cheese reception. Carpe Diem Arts, housed under the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, is dedicated to bringing a broad range of visual, literary and performing arts to educational and community settings on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and in the greater DC area, providing affordable, high quality and culturally diverse arts programs for audiences of all ages.
