As part of the major quilt show that took place over the past weekend in Oxford, there was a challenge competition to make a quilt that contained a “quarter,” but it was up to the competitor to decide what that means. The winning entry depicted the 2013 Maryland Fort McHenry quarter produced by the US mint. It was made by Susan Henyon of Bayside Quilters. She made her own design to reproduce the quarter in color. Susan hopes that the quilt will displayed in the State Capitol or Governor’s Office where it could be seen widely.
We hope that’s the case.
