On June 1, Congressman Andy Harris will host a roundtable discussion with local veterans at American Legion Post 18. Congressman Harris and the veterans in attendance will discuss several issues American veterans are currently facing, and the proposed solutions under consideration in Congress. After this event, Congressman Harris will meet with local farmers at MidAtlantic Farm Credit to discuss this year’s farm bill, crop insurance, and other agricultural issues.
The Congressman will conclude the day by attending the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall in Easton, where he will read the names of America’s fallen heroes and participate in the ceremonial wreath laying. Media is welcome to attend all of these events.

My Congressman Andy Harris visited Maryland’s Eastern Shore on Friday, 1 June 2018. One of his stops was for a Farm Credit Bureau Roundtable in Denton, MD. I decided to go. It turns out the event is a private meeting with the MidAtlantic Farm Credit branch in Denton that invited Dr. Andy to come talk about the “Farm” bill. The public was turned away, politely by staff. I didn’t make a stink or a scene. Still, clearly, the public was not welcome. Staff wanted to know how I found out about the meeting. Social media. The Talbot Spy. Good job, Spy. My Congressman? Good job, not so much.

Dear Congressman Harris,
Thanks for your support for our veterans… finally. Where have you been for the past seven years? Certainly absent when it comes to raising awareness and assistance for veterans. Since there is a candidate now running for your seat who is a veteran that cares about veterans you are showing up. It’s all window dressing and it’s too little, too late, Andy. Better dust off your resume. Don’t bother sending it to me.
A veteran and a Jesse Colvin supporter.
