August at Le Hatchery Galleria at Easton, Maryland

DSCN1293 JewelryThis summer, your destination for everything art will be continuing its growth to becoming “the” destination for everything art.

In July, our “Friends of Calico Gallery at Le Hatchery” were the “Friday Morning Artist” group. The Friday Morning Artists works were displayed in the “Hatch” Gallery and the Lobby. Coming up, the “Wednesday Morning Artists” (WMA) will be our “Friends” for the month of August.

The WMA is a very diverse group of artists, and artisans that use water color, oils, acrylic, photography, glass, metal and weaving material to create their unique one-of-a-kind art. Many of the WMA already display and/or create their art in the many galleries at Calico Gallery at Le Hatchery Galleria. Their art/creations are very reasonably priced. Please come and check out the works of the Wednesday Morning Artists in our “Hatch” Gallery.

August will be our month to celebrate the wonderful works done by our resident artisans. Collectively, our “glass”, “metal” and “weaving” artisans will be our “Featured Artists” for the month of August. Check out their wonderful creations in the lobby, and check out their studios in the “Hatch” and “Brooder” galleries.

SSCN0340On Saturday, August 20th Le Hatchery Galleria will put on an “Indoor/Outdoor Artisan and Craft Festival” from 10am until 5pm on our parking lot. In addition to the works from our resident artisans, we will have lots of fun craft vendors from around the area. Ahh… the smell of pit beef and kettle corn in the air, and an opportunity to do a little early Holiday shopping – what more could you want. We will have plenty of off street parking available on the adjacent properties

At the end of June – and through July -, we held our first Sumer Art Camp for kids between ten & twelve years of age. The camp took place in our new demonstration and training room in the “Brooder” Gallery. Lisa Skibenes guided the kids through the process of creating their target project 2

of a mosaic (see photos) and mural painted on the parking lot side of the Le Hatchery building. Each child will sign their piece of the project right on the wall. In addition, the kids learned the art of painting with “pastels” taught by Laura Kapolchok. Heidi Wetzel, one of our resident artisans, helped each student to create a woven sculpture they could take home and use.

SSCN0341Check out the wall mural created by our first “Summer Art Camp” when you come to our “Indoor/Outdoor Artisan and Craft Festival” on Saturday August 20th.

What do your kids do if it rains when on vacation? What about arts and crafts? Come check out our wonderful selection of kid’s art supplies and craft items. You will find many hours of creative fun for your kids – rain or shine.

A couple Artisan studio work spaces are still available in the “Brooder Gallery”. These spaces are calling for your creativity.

For August & September check our Facebook for dates other classes are being planned.

Calico Gallery custom framing will extend it’s 20% discount on their highest quality custom framing through August. Based on many requests, we are offering you the opportunity to own an attractive – one of a kind – art enhance NOAA map. You choose what you want painted, and either you or one of our artist will create the images on a pre mounted map. The framing of the map will add the final touch. In addition, we can transfer photo images of your boat or other Chesapeake icons we own onto any NOAA map.

As always, Calico Gallery at Le Hatchery Galleria provides the highest quality custom framing service at the best price anywhere.
