The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum continues its Foodways of the Chesapeake series Thursday with “Farming for the Future––Diversity and Sustainability at Crow Farm, ”a talk by representatives of the Crow Farm in Kent County. They will discuss their journey away from “the Big Three,” corn, wheat and soybean; instead choosing grass fed beef, pork, farm-to-table events, and a winery as more sustainable options.
On Friday, the Tred Avon Players (TAP) open their 30th season at the newly renovated Oxford Community Center with “Life is a Cabaret: the Songs of Kander & Ebb.” Think “Chicago,” “Cabaret,” “Kiss of the Spiderwoman,” “New York, New York.” Bet you’ll be singing all the way home in the car.
Saturday the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will travel across the bridge to Chesapeake College, so you don’t have to, (drive across the bridge, that is). Twenty-three-year-old French piano sensation Lise de la Salle makes her BSO debut with one of Mozart’s most popular concertos. American conductor James Gaffigan shows why he is such a big talent with three 19th century orchestral masterworks by Brahms, Wagner and Richard Strauss.
