Trish Bosley of Bosley Brangier invites the public to an event at her St. Michaels studio this evening, June 20th.
Patrick Smithwick, author of Flying Change and Racing My Father, will be reading an excerpt and speaking about his book Flying Change on Thursday June 20.
The autobiography Flying Change chronicles Smithwick’s return to steeplechase riding after a 30 year absence. The book has won awards.
The event is to benefit Talbot Special Riders, a therapeutic horsemanship program serving people of all ages with special needs. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with Patrick speaking at 6 p.m.; he will be signing books through out the evening.
A representative from Talbot Special Riders will speak around 6:45 p.m.
Both books are in hardcover – Flying Change is $30, Racing My Father is $25, if both are purchased together they are $50.
Patrick will donate 50% of the purchase price of the books to TSR (Talbot Special Riders).

In addition, Eileen Johnson of Tempi Design Studio will be showing her equestrian jewelry creations and Nantucket-style woven handbags. Keep in mind if you want a special custom piece, she is the one to speak to. Eileen will donate 10% of her sales from this evening to TSR.
Bosley Brangier will also be donating 10% of sales made during the event to TSR.
Refreshments will be provided by Bosley Brangier and Eastern Shore Brewing; Sophie’s Poseys will provide flowers.
