Carpe Diem Arts presents TINSMITH Featuring Brooke Parkhurst, Henry Cross and Rowan Corbett (from the Grammy Award-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops). The performance will be at Talbot County Senior Center, 400 Brookletts Ave., Easton on October 9, 12:15-1:00pm.
Tinsmith performs traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and Appalachia. Citing influences from blues to bluegrass, from funk to jazz to mountain music, Tinsmith brings traditional songs and tunes into the new century. Led by WAMMIE-winning vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Brooke Parkhurst (banjo, Irish flute, tin whistles) and the awesomely talented Rowan Corbett of the Carolina Chocolate Drops (guitar, bouzouki, bones, djembe), the trio also features superb bassist and singer Henry Cross. www.Tinsmith.net
The Carpe Diem Arts performance series at Brookletts Place is presented by Carpe Diem Arts in partnership with the Talbot County Senior Center at Brookletts Place.
Tinsmith will also present a concert at 10:30am at the Chesapeake Center for adults with disabilities.
Both concerts are made possible by the generous support of the Talbot County Arts Council with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council, by the Dock Street Foundation, andby individual contributions to Carpe Diem Arts and Brookletts Place.
The monthly 45-minute performances (12:15-1:00pm on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, September through May 2019) are FREE and open to the public. Lunch is available at 12 noon with advance reservations (2 weeks in advance).

Carolyn Jaffe says
Thank you so much for this very descriptive announcement of the Carpe Diem Arts concert presentations at Brookletts Place / The Senior Center in Easton for the coming year. This series has been a rewarding and exemplary string of very talented musicians for some time now, and their “up close and personal” performances have enchanted (and educated!) many folks of all ages who attend regularly. (I’ve helped Busy Graham with the duties of this project for quite some time now, and I’m always amazed at the friendly, talented musicians she knows and has brought to the Shore for our benefit … and I support Carpe Diem Arts for that very reason.)
This is a unique opportunity to bring your own lunch and enjoy a break in the workday while being serenaded by really fine music … for FREE “Try it, you’ll like it!” – ’tis said … and I think you’ll agree! Will I see you for Tinsmith?
