Chamber’s Young Professionals and Academy Art Museum Gear Up for Toys for Tots

October 22, 2021 by The Spy

Share

For more than ten years, the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce’s young professional group has taken the lead in managing the annual Toys for Tots campaign. This unique program was created so children whose parents cannot afford to buy them toys for the holiday season can receive these as gifts from the community.

While the goal is simple, there are countless logistical issues of collecting and distributing thousands of toy donations that come with that mission. And this year, the falls on Chamber member Frank Gunsallus. And in Frank’s case, his day job as an account manager at the local high tech firm, BDK, is a perfect match for some of those challenges.

Also, this year, the Toys for Tots campaign has a new partnership with the Academy Art. Museum. On October 28, the AAM will co-host the kick-off event with their new partner, the Academy Art Museum.

The Spy talked to Frank a few days ago about this great Talbot County tradition.

This video is approximately two minutes in length.  To register for the kick off event please go here.

Frank Gunsallus has always been a champion for and within the local community. So it pleases me to know that he’s a driving force this year in particular, for the Toys for Tots campaign. I’m sure it will be the most successful year yet and many thousands of kids will have a more joyous holiday season because of his altruistic character and irrepressible drive for success in all of his endeavors. Please follow Frank’s lead on this and take action to make a difference this, and every year.
