Join Astrobiologist and Planetary Scientist Pamela “Pan” Conrad on Tuesday, February 13th as she plumbs the depths of the ocean for a look at the extreme environments scientists are only just beginning the understand. In Oceans Matter, Tuesday, February 13th from 1-2:30 PM, Conrad explores why Earth is the only planet we know of (so far,) that has water.
Described as a “gifted story teller,” Dr. Conrad takes the class on a journey through the world’s oceans to learn about their role in shaping the Earth’s climate; she introduces some of the amazing creatures that live in high pressure environments on the ocean floor and invites a conversation about the role humans play in influencing the good and ill health of the oceans.
Oceans Matter! Is one session, Tuesday, February 13th from 1-2:30 PM. $20. Hybrid (in person at the Easton Family YMCA, ZOOM or recording). To register, visit https://chesakeapekforum.org.
