Chestertown Police Chief Adrian Baker told the Town Council last night that the armed robberies of Domino’s on Nov. 6 and Royal Farm Stores on Nov. 11 were most likely committed by the same individuals.
In both robberies the suspects left on foot and made their way to a get-away car close by, Chief Baker said. K-9 units at each crime scene tracked the suspects about 200 yards to a parking lot where the scent stopped.
He said CPD was working with businesses and they are now emptying their cash drawers more frequently.
“If there is a robbery they’re not going to get much,” Chief Baker said. He also said that CPD would provide escorts for businesses to make bank drops.
He said CPD and the Kent and Queen Anne’s Sherriff’s offices are working jointly to solve the robberies.
“You will see more officers on the road,” Chief Baker said. “We are being very aggressive in our pursuit of finding the people that committed these crimes and proactively doing everything we can to prohibit any more.”
